2017 Indy Festival of Faiths

Festival co-chairs Muzaffar Ahmad and Maninder Walia

On October 15 tor the first time in its five year history, the Indy Festival of Faiths had to evacuate the Veterans Memorial Plaza and relocate inside the Indiana War Memorial. What could have been an emergency turned into a nearly perfect event. The War Memorial is one of the grandest venues in the city. The good-spirits of participants ensured that everyone helped out their interfaith neighbors. The Memorial buzzed with the energy of hundreds of participants. Almost everyone walked away with a turban.

Here’s a flavor of what transpired on this very special day.

The Festival kicked off with greetings from several faith leaders
Festival of Faiths chair Muzaffar Ahmad greeted the slightly damp crowd in the ornate Pershing Auditorium.
