“Muslim-Christian service at Indianapolis church ‘doesn’t happen anywhere else'”

Robert Scheer, Indianapolis Star, December 16, 2018

“We are doing things here that have never been done before,” said T. A. Shula, moderator of a combined Christian and Muslim prayer service at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, the second annual.

About 40 Christians and members of Masjid Al-Fajr held a 45-minute service, followed by a half-hour question-and-answer session led by Imam Ahmed Al-Amine and the Rev. Chris Wadelton.

The session included wide-ranging questions about whether Muslim terrorists misuse Islam, what Islamic calls to prayer mean and about Jesus’ resurrection.

Afterward, a sunset call to prayer was held in the church’s sanctuary.

“Differences of opinions and differences of ideas should not affect how we interact,” Al-Amine said.
