Interfaith Iftar for the IMPD

Rev. Holman says, “We don’t want the first time a police officer to encounter someone of a different faith to be in the middle of a crisis situation.”

Writes CIC board member Bruce Garrison:

Debbie and I were invited to the first interfaith law enforcement iftar at Al Fajr mosque last night. It was an honor to be with officers and chaplains from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI. Congressman Andre Carson made a surprise visit as well.

Thanks to CIC board members IMPD Chaplain Pat Holman and Imam Ahmad Alemine for making the event possible. Rev. Holman says, “We don’t want the first time a police officer to encounter someone of a different faith to be in the middle of a crisis situation.”
