Screening and discussion of “Love, Jordan”

CIC AmeriCorps member Dija is a talented actress and filmmaker. Her latest film, “Love, Jordan,” is about teen suicide and is sure to provide the basis for important discussions around Indy.

On June 12 Dija Henry screened her new film, “Love, Jordan” at First Baptist Church / First Karen Baptist Church. The film addresses youth and teen mental health, and we are discussing the film with a group of youth at the congregation. Suicide doesn’t discriminate. It affects all communities. And it disproportionately affects youth. According to the Indiana State Department of Health, in 2017: Suicide was the second leading cause of death among 15- to 34-year-olds, and the third-leading cause of death among 10- to 14-year-olds.
