Imam Alemine was sworn in as IMPD chaplain

History was made June 12 when Imam Ahmad Alemine of Masjid Al-Fajr and CIC board member was sworn in as chaplain for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. He’s the first Muslim police chaplain for Indy, and one of only a handful in the Midwest.

Says Imam Alemine:

I had the privilege, all praise is due to Allah, to be sworn-in by the Police Chief of Indianapolis to be the first Muslim/Imam Police Chaplain in the history of Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department #IMPD. I’m looking forward to representing the Muslim Community in the Police Department, representing the Police in our community, and to serving all the citizens of Indianapolis both officers and civilians with integrity, dedication, and impartiality.
