Use #GivingTuesday to support interfaith youth engagement
One of the initiatives CIC values most highly is our engagement with young people. We believe strongly in preparing the next generation of Hoosiers to deal with an ever-increasingly diverse world. This Giving Tuesday, you can be part of our work.
How your #GivingTuesday can support interfaith youth engagement in Central Indiana
- $25 will help provide lunch for Burmese refugee youth at the World Refugee Day of Service & Celebration June 20.
- $50 will help defray the costs of the Interfaith Youth Ambassador Forum on May 1.
- $100 will purchase a ticket for a student to attend the Annual Interfaith Banquet March 8.
The Indy Festival of Faiths (next scheduled for September 13, 2020) includes a Community Youth Forum that draws more than 50 high school students.
A tradition for CIC on June 20 is World Refugee Day of Service & Celebration, a chance for students from the Burmese American Community Institute to work with CIC staff and volunteers for a day at Indy Urban Acres.
In 2019 CIC launched the Interfaith Youth Ambassador Program. Twenty high school students are chosen to attend and discuss six tours of places of worship. They report on their experiences and lessons at an Interfaith Youth Ambassador Forum on May 1. (The first orientation takes place Friday, November 22, 4:30-6:00 pm at the Indiana Interchurch Center. If you know a student who’d like to apply for the Program, please contact Abby Shores at email@example.com.
The Center for Interfaith Cooperation and the young people of Central Indiana thank you for your support.Tags: #GivingTuesday, #GivingTuesdayCIC, Festival of Faiths, IYAP, world refugee day of service, youth
