Art Farnsley visits the Festival of Faiths … and likes it!

Art Farnsley is Research Professor of Religious Studies at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and Associate Director of the Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture. The books he’s written include: The Bible in American Life:  A Report from the  Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture ; Flea Market Jesus (Cascade Books, 2012); Sacred Circles, Public Squares: The Multicentering of American Religion (Indiana University Press, 2004); Rising Expectations: Urban Congregations, Welfare Reform, and Civic Life.  OK, so this was mostly the “Festival of Non-Protestant White People Faiths”. I had fun.

They had 50-70 people from their gurdwara. In a genius move, they tied turbans on the heads of anyone who let them, which makes a very forceful point about who Sikhs are. My friend Sukhi goes to this gurdwara and Gail and I have visited.
