Soulaf Abas on the Syrian refugee crisis
Wednesday April 22
Indiana Interchurch Center
1100 W. 42nd St.
Soulaf Abas is coming to Indianapolis April 22nd to discuss the Syrian refugee crisis and how we can help be part of a solution. In addition to talking, she’ll display some of her art inspired by the Syrian Revolution, and will sign copies of her book of letters between Hoosier and Syrian children. Soulaf was part of the Syrian refugee friendship feast organized by the Center for Interfaith Cooperation in February.
Soulaf was born and raised in Damascus. She received her BA and MFA from Indiana State University, where she currently teaches art.
As the refugee support initiative continues to take shape, expect to see much more of Soulaf Abas and her remarkable work in Indianapolis and at the Interchurch Center, where she is scheduled to have an exhibit of her art in October.Tags: arts, kids, refugees, Syrians, therapy
