Breaking Bread for Humanity: An Interfaith Iftar @ JCC Indianapolis Laikin Auditorium | Indianapolis | Indiana | United States

JCRC, OBAT Helpers, MAI, IHC and Beth-El Zedeck invite you to break bread with them on May 25th 2019. The interfaith Iftar is being held to raise awareness and funds for Rohingya refugees who after having fled persecution, violence and genocide in Myanmar, are now settled in the world’s largest refugee camp in Bangladesh. OBAT Helpers, an Indianapolis based nonprofit, addressed this humanitarian crisis by providing initial relief to the refugees through distribution of meals and essential items of daily living, followed with expansive efforts to rebuild their lives through provision of shelters, education, empowerment opportunities and health care.

Iftar or breaking of the Ramadan fast will take place at 9:01 pm. This evening meal will be preceded by an hour long program in which you will hear from representatives of the sponsoring organizations and learn about the impact of the Rohingya crisis.

We hope that you will join us on this inspirational evening to stand with Rohingya refugees.

How effective are prison ministries at addressing mental health problems of prisoners during and after their incarceration?

Each Interfaith Coalition for Mental Health luncheon concentrates on a specific mental health practice or accessible tool individuals can use in their congregations. Together, the luncheons outline a “core curriculum” of how best to address basic, ubiquitous mental health needs of faith communities. The curriculum is designed so that individuals who attend every luncheon will be generally equipped and knowledgeable about mental health community resources.

ICMH presents our last event of the Spring 2019 Series: Community Building: Resiliency Across Sectors.

We now ask for an admission fee of $5. Because we have often reached our RSVP capacity, ICMH makes this change to accommodate everyone who wishes to attend. We will accept walk-ins.

Scholarships are available: click here to fill out a scholarship request.
