Who’ll be at the Festival of Faiths? The Dwelling Place, that’s who

A stalwart of past Festivals is the Dwelling Place, a Christian community that seeks to integrate Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox practices in their worship. How does the Dwelling Place live the theme of this year’s Festival, “Embracing religious diversity”?
Share Space at the Dwelling Place

Thursday, August 15, 6:30-8:00 pm

First Baptist Church
8600 N College Avenue, Indianapolis, 46240

The Dwelling Place has embraced religious diversity through a 3-part series on Religious Pluralism where we heard from a Hindu, Jew, and Muslim at our church, then went and visited the Temple, Synagogue, and Mosque.

We have started a Conversation Club for people who are learning English as a New Language, and we are calling it Share Space. No experience or preparation is necessary. We will be providing the talking points and vocabulary words.

The Dwelling Place has partnered with Al Salam Foundation in Carmel to serve breakfast to nearly 200 homeless neighbors for the last three Thanksgiving mornings.

Welcome to America, one of the ways the Dwelling Place embraces religious diversity

Saturday, August 31, 6:30-8:30 pm

Masjid Al-Fajr, 2846 Cold Spring Road Indianapolis 46222

We are getting ready to start a partnership with Al Fajr Mosque to have Welcome to America classes for their immigrant and refugee population. And Jewish Family Services are collaborating with Helpings of Hope to work a Sunday each month for three months to harvest our community garden to provide fresh produce for local food pantries.
